Typical for the designs by Liesbeth Bulk is the influence of nature. True plants creating a living wall hanging, or as inspiration for a ‘organic’ shelving unit which meanders it’s way along the wall.
‘a Crush on Nature’ is the ultimate way of incorporating nature in your interior. The natural filigree, encapsulated in the glass, shows the complex beauty of plants, flowers and insects. Either in a design that represents a natural habitat or inspired on the laws of nature by fractal patterns that will create very abstract graphical designs. But even then, in the smallest details the fractals will still have natural, poetic connotations.
Liesbeth Bulk m.f.a. studied garden design at the Horticultural college in Boskoop. At the Utrecht school of arts she made
the transfer to designing interiors. In 1998 she completed her studies at the Sandberg Institute (post academic course at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie Amsterdam) with a masters in applied arts.
In addition to her work as an independant designer she has been teaching design at the Sint Lucas college in Boxtel (2003-2004). Was a guest lecturer at the technical University of Delft (2002-2004) and has been teaching at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam (2004-2007).
